Abstract
Hashemi is a new triticale cultivar with pedigree of ARDI_1/TOPO1419//ERIZO_9/3/LIRON_1-1/4/FAHAD_4/FARAS_1 derived from triticale nurseries receive from CIMMYT and was selected based on its grain yield superiority, in different trials (preliminary, advance and elite yield trials) and released as a new cultivar. Results showed that grain yield of Hashemi (line ET-85-17) was higher the grain yield of Juanillo 92 (check cultivar) in elite regional yield trial by 25%. Correspondingly, superiority of this promising line in On-farm research in comparison with Juanillo 92, Sanabad and Pazh was 12%, 21% and 9%, respectively. Hashemi triticale cultivar has spring growth habit, high yielding potential, early maturity (4-6 day earlier than the check) and is resistant to lodging and yellow rust as well as tolerant to soil salinity. Therefore, this new cultivar is suitable for cultivation in the low-input and marginal lands of moderate regions of Iran.
